It seems like only yesterday when we were hearing rumors about the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, but now, things just got real. Are you an AT&T and/or Verizon subscriber? Are you an Android user? Do you have eyesight that requires a phone screen that’s bigger than your hand? Then you’ll be happy to know that you can now pre-order the latest in Samsung’s line of gigantic smartphones: the Note 3. You don’t even have to exert a lot of effort to do so. Simply check out Best Buy, and you can put in your pre-order.
AT&T subscribers have the advantage here, as you have the option of making your reservation online. For Verizon users, you actually have to get out of your house and visit Best Buy.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has a 5.7-inch Full HD Super AMOLED 386 ppi display, which makes for a huge difference from the Note 2. That means more eye candy, naturally. When it comes to processing power, it boasts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz with 3GB of RAM. That’s faster than my laptop!
Take a look at the Note 3 in action.
I suppose that, for Note 2 owners, the big question is whether it is worth an upgrade or not. It will all depend on your emotional intelligence, I think, but a comprehensive look at the two phones makes me lean toward a two-letter answer: NO.
That’s not to say that the Note 3 is not a good phone. It’s just that if you have a perfectly good Note 2, the price tag of about $700 for a new phone which may not really offer you a breathtaking experience (using your current phone as a baseline) is a tad too steep. Then again, if you have the money to spare, why not?
In other news, if it’s the Galaxy Gear you want (you know, because your Note 3 is too big, and you need something that is more handy), check out Best Buy next month
